Winter in Wisconsin

Well, this morning we woke up to a freezing rain advisory in Southeastern Wisconsin. So my Thursday routine has been slightly altered. I will not be driving to the mall to walk. We will walk at the high school in town instead.  That will give me some time to get some more Valentine's Day card made.  I still have my Christmas items down at Live A Little, downtown Kenosha. Time to change holidays.

For those of you new to my blog (which is probably everyone), I have a Stampin' Up table at my friend's clothing consignment store.

Check the store out on Facebook.

I provide free help there when needed.  Tonight Lori and Jackie are treating me to dinner and drinks. Don't worry, I'm not driving.

Time to go make some cards.  Look for a post from me later to see what I came up with!

Last Chance to Order from the Holiday Mini Catalog

Welcome! This is my first post on my new blog. Merry Christmas to all of you. I wanted to share some of my recent projects that I gave as gifts.  The first is a framed advent calendar using "25 & Counting" stamp set.  I had made quite a few in the traditional colors of Real Red, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip, and Whisper White using a gold frame.  I had purchased a silver frame and it didn't look right with those colors. I just happened to have my new plaid shirt on and noticed that its color combinations of blues and browns looked great against the silver frame. So I dug through all my DSP and cardstock and came up with the following:

I used Soft Suede, Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy, and Whisper White cardstock with Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy, and Chocolate chip ink pads and markers. I used Beau Chateau DSP, silver glitter paper, and some other retired DSP for background papers. I used the Big Shot and punches to achieve the final product.  E-mail if you would like to see more pictures.

I gave it to my husband's Aunt Helen on Christmas Eve.  She decorates her house in blue for Christmas so her new gift will blend in quite well!

Remember, the holiday mini catalog ends on Jan. 3.

My second gift is for my cousin Doris who I will see this week.  I found a frame with a mat and used the snowflake punch and the Snow Much Fun stamp set with some of the same colors as the advent calendar.  I plan on making something for each season and to give to Doris when we get together again in a couple of months.

Please feel free to comment on my blog and I hope you return.  I will be posting cards using the new products from the upcoming Occasions Mini Catalog  which begins Jan. 4 and Sale-a-bration which begins Jan. 24.
