IT'S FALL!

Fall is upon us and I wanted to post a couple of picture of my latest projects. The first is a fall ornament that is similar to the Christmas ornament on the front cover of the Holiday Catalog. I found the idea on Catherine Pooler's blog, but added my own twist with the Early Expresso tulle.

The ornament is made from the stampset, Wonderfall, and the Bigz die, Autumn Accents. I used the maple leaf and brayered it with Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze on Very Vanilla card stock. The smaller leaves are Early Expresso card stock, embossed with the Woodgrain folder. I used the scoring tool to folder them in half so it looks like there are veins on the leaves. Behind each is the tulle. I used linen thread inside each maple leaf. The center is a piece of DSP from last year's catalog and an antique brad.

My second project is a fall card. I CASED this card but don't remember from whom.  I really like the pumpkins - all made using punches. The saying is from the Seasonal Sayings stamp set in the holiday catalog and stamped in Early Expresso. I used Very Vanilla , Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Tangerine Tango card stock along with the Brights DSP stack.

Hope you enjoyed the projects.

Thanks for visiting.

ANGRY BIRD CARD

I needed a birthday card for a young boy, who I know loves to play the game, "Angry Birds".  Now I don't know much about Angry Bird, but know it is quite popular right now.  I did a web search for ideas and found a bookmark on Splitcoast Stampers by smowteach - my favorite place to CASE cards I'll admit. I made the bookmark and carefully put it on the front of a card. I attach the greeting with sticky tape so I could tuck the bookmark down inside it.  The designer paper was left over from last year's holiday catalog. I use the two tag die along with many punches. The stamp set is the retired Happiest Birthday Wishes. I used Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Read, Crumb Cake, and Pear Pizzazz cardstock.

New Foam Stampin' Pads

The company has informed the demonstrators that there is a problem with the Basic Black foam ink pads.  Read the update from the company below.  I will keep you updated on their findings. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

FIRM FOAM STAMPIN' PADS

July 5, 2012Basic Black Stampin' Pad
We are working on an issue with the Basic Black Classic Stampin' Pad (item 126980). We have discovered that the ink smears when stamped on Whisper White and Very Vanilla Card Stock; however, it still works on the other colors of card stock. We are testing both the ink and card stock. At this time, we do not know when this issue will be resolved and recommend using the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad (item 101406) on Whisper White and Very Vanilla Card Stock. We are working on this daily and will let you know when we have more information.
Ink Refills
When you use the firm foam pads you get a more solid and crisp image. The firm foam pads hold less ink and release more onto your stamp which means you will need to refill the pad more frequently.

I'm Back!

I've not been blogging for quite a while, but have decided there is no better time than today. Yesterday was Friday the 13th.  It was a lucky day for me.  I signed my first recruit so I have moved up to Supervisor at Stampin' Up.  I also had another person who found me through my Stampin' Up website and came to my house to get a catalog, so I decided that I better get this site current.

I held a workshop last night.  It was a great time especially with the promotion "Reason to Smile". Anyone who purchases $50 in products in July can purchase this special stamp for only $5.

We made cards using the stamp set and a variety of techniques. Here are two of them.

Both of the cards I CASEed from Splitcoast Stampers website. This one of my favorite places to go to for ideas:   splitcoaststampers.com

The first card uses Summer Starfruit, Marina Mist, and Whisper White Cardstock and Marina Mist ink.  I used the Reason to Smile stamp set with white embossing powder. The butterfly is from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set using black Stazon ink and the Elegant Butterfly punch, accented with a rhinestone. The saying is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and was cut out with Bitty Banners Framelits. I used the Argyle embossing folder, the Finishing Edges Edgelits, and white 1/4" stitched grosgrain ribbon. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set using the modern label punch and the
1 1/4" square punch. I  attached it with white Baker's Twine and a glue dot.

The second card uses Gumball Green, Melon Mambo, and Whisper White card stock.  I used the Reason to Smile stamp set, stamping the daisies with Melon Mambo ink.  I markered the flowers on the right with Melon Mambo and Gumball Green and punched them out with the 1 1/4" square. I used the 1 3/8" punch with Melon Mambo cardstock.  The ribbon is 3/8" stitched Satin Ribbon in Gumball Green.

Now I will be spending time gearing up for the new holiday catalog that comes out Aug. 1.  Come back and check out my previews for the new catalog.

Thanks for visiting my blog.
